1. 3D Reachability & Cycle Time Simulation in RobotStudio

Before cutting steel or ordering tooling, complete a 1:1 virtual twin in ABB RobotStudio:

  • Reachability Analysis: Confirm all palletizing or welding points fall within the robot's primary work envelope without joint singularities.
  • Payload & Inertia Check: Calculate gripper weight, workpiece dynamics, and center of gravity (COG) against the robot load diagram.
  • Cycle Time Verification: Accurately simulate motion paths, acceleration limits, and IO handshake delays.

2. Safety Architecture (ISO 10218 & EN ISO 13849-1)

Robotic safety relies on deterministic interlocking between the robot controller (IRC5 / OmniCore) and the master Safety PLC:
